📌 Introduction

Yes, you can modify your Soundreef Membership after registration.

You have two options:

🔹 Mandate Opt Out → to exclude specific rights classes and/or territories.
🔹 Mandate Termination → to completely stop the management of your rights with Soundreef.

📆 Requests must be sent by August 31st to become effective from January 1st of the following year.


1️⃣ How to opt out the mandate (rights and/or territories)

📌 If you want to exclude certain rights classes and/or territories from your Membership, follow these steps:

Send your request to Soundreef support via Messenger on the site or in your account, by August 31st.
✔ The change will take effect from January 1st of the following year.
✔ You will receive a confirmation email once the update is completed.

🔹 Things to know

  • The opt out concerns your entire repertoire, not individual tracks.

  • If you want to entrust the excluded rights/territories to another collecting society, you must wait until January 1st, when the change will be effective.

  • If you want to add new rights and/or territories, first ensure you haven't already entrusted them to another society.


2️⃣ How to completely terminate the mandate

📌 If you want to stop the management of your rights by Soundreef, follow these steps:

Log into your Soundreef profile > Profile>Membership and select the option "End Membership".
✔ Submit the request by August 31st to make it effective from January 1st.
✔ Until December 31st, you can continue to register tracks and manage your Soundreef profile.

🔹 Things to know

  • 📆 Until December 31st, the mandate will remain active with Soundreef, and you can register new tracks.

  • ❌ From January 1st, you will no longer be able to upload new tracks to Soundreef, but you can still access your profile to view statements and payments.

  • 🔗 If you want to register with another collecting society, you must wait until January 1st, when your IPI code will be officially detached from Soundreef.

Can I continue to register tracks after requesting the mandate termination or opt out?
Yes, until December 31st, your mandate remains active, and you can register new tracks.

After sending the request, can I immediately join another collecting society?
No, you must wait until January 1st, when your mandate with Soundreef will no longer be valid.

Can I access my Soundreef profile after the termination of the mandate?
Yes, you can still view statements and payments, but not deposit new tracks.

Can I cancel the termination request?

Yes, log into your Soundreef account > Membership and select the option "Revoke request".

Can I reactivate my Membership?

Yes, as long as you do not have an ongoing mandate with another collecting society (in that case, you must terminate/opt out your current agreement before reactivating your Soundreef Membership).
