❓ How do I edit my registration in Soundreef?

📌 Introduction

Some changes to your registration can be made directly from your account, while others require Soundreef support intervention.

Here is a guide to understand what you can do independently and what requires assistance.


🔄 1. Editing Track Details

Some information can be updated by yourself in your account:

Title and Artist Name → Editable directly on the Track.

Info that cannot be updated in the account:
Genre → Contact Soundreef support (does not affect rights management).

📌 Note: The Artist name in the Soundreef registration is independent from that on DSPs. If you need to update it on streaming platforms, you will need to do so directly with your digital distributor.


📜 2. Editing Rights Holders and Shares

If you need to update ownership shares or add/remove rights holders:

🔹 Contact Soundreef support with:

  • Work ID and Title

  • New updated distribution scheme

  • Roles, Names, % DEM and DRM Shares

  • IPI Codes (if available)

🔹 What happens next?

  • We will send you a new List of Works to sign.

  • We will update our system with the new shares.

  • If there are non-Soundreef rights holders, they will need to update the deposit with their collecting society - notifying them (Soundreef does not handle this).

📌 Attention:

  • Do not redeposit the track → Request the modification to avoid duplicates.

  • You cannot remove an author/composer → Copyright is inalienable and cannot be transferred to third parties.

  • If a publisher exits the chain of ownership, documentation supporting the change, signed by both the transferor and transferee, is required.


🎵 3. Editing Track Versions

If you need to modify an audio version (e.g., change the MP3 file or ISRC code):

Upload a new version directly from your Soundreef profile.
Inform Soundreef support which version to archive - identifying it with as many details as possible (title, artist, version type, metadata of the respective version).
If the ISRC code is already correct, you will not need to re-upload it to the new Version, we will transfer it directly.

📌 Do you just want to update the recording year?
You can do it directly without uploading a new version.

🗑 How to delete a version?

  • If you have not uploaded the MP3 → You can delete it yourself from the Versions section.

  • If the MP3 has already been uploaded → Contact Soundreef support.


❓ FAQ

🔹 Does Soundreef notify other collecting societies about registration changes?
No, each collecting society updates only its own records. If your track is shared with non-Soundreef rights holders, they must update the registration with their collecting society as well.

🔹 Can I delete a registration?
Only if it is a duplicate or if you need to cancel it. If you need to correct information, request a modification from us.

🔹 I registered a work without a publisher, now I have one. What should I do?
Contact us, providing the relevant details and we will update the chain of ownership.

🔹 I have joined a Publishing Administration service (e.g., through a digital distributor), do I need to update the registration?
Yes, absolutely. Inform us of the change in publishing share to avoid management conflicts between collecting societies.
