❓ Do I need to transfer my repertoire from another collecting society to Soundreef: will you do it for me or do I have to do it myself?

Updated this week

📌 Introduction

If you are switching to Soundreef and already have tracks registered with your previous collecting society, you might wonder what happens to your repertoire.

The transfer is not automatic: you need to register your tracks again in your Soundreef account.

✅ The transfer is not automatic 👤 You manage the registration in your new Soundreef account

Unlike updates related to the mandate or IPI code, which are managed directly between collecting societies through international databases, the transfer of your Repertoire requires direct action from you.

🎯 It's a simple, quick process under your full control.

Track registration is indeed a fundamental activity:

  • it allows you to confirm your ownership

  • ensures that the data is correct and up-to-date

  • enables Soundreef to collect royalties

To reconstruct your previous repertoire, you can simply request an export from the collecting society you are leaving, thus obtaining your complete list of works including the chain of ownership details.

📌 Once you have the data, you can register your tracks in just a few minutes directly from your Soundreef account, on your own or with our support if the repertoire is particularly large.

📌 Remember: the fact that a track is already registered with another collecting society does not mean it is automatically registered with Soundreef.

🔁 Do you have a large repertoire?

If you have more than 400 tracks to transfer, we can support you with the process.

📩 Contact us via Messenger on the website or in your account, providing us with:

  • the total number of tracks

  • your repertoire file with the list of titles and chain of ownership details

  • your Soundreef ID.

We will give you detailed instructions to speed up the import.

📑 What about the co-authors/publishers in the tracks?

  • Your co-authors/publishers, whether they are registered with Soundreef or not, will not receive any notification or document to re-sign (as long as the distribution schemes of the Tracks have not changed from the first registration); and that's correct - they don't need mandate or repertoire updates, it's an alignment of your position.

  • Soundreef rights holders will receive a List of Works to sign only if the chain of ownership - compared to the first registration, have changed. In that case, remember that the other involved collecting societies must also be notified/updated to proceed with substitute registrations.

🖋️ The List of Works: is it necessary to sign even if the track is already registered elsewhere?

Yes. In Soundreef, each registration requires the signature (by Soundreef rights holders) of the List of Works to be considered complete, even if the track is already registered with another collecting society.

Only after the signature of all involved Soundreef parties will the registration be considered valid.

❓ FAQ

🔹 Can Soundreef import my tracks from another collecting society?
You need to register your tracks in your Soundreef account. If the number of Tracks exceeds 400, the Soundreef team can assist you with the import.

🔹 What happens if I don't register the tracks in Soundreef?
Soundreef will not have them in monitoring and therefore cannot manage their rights. Always proceed with registering your tracks in your Soundreef account.

🔹 If I have hundreds of tracks, can I ask for your support?
Yes, if you have more than 400 tracks, contact us: we can help you with the transfer process.

✅ Conclusion

The transfer of your repertoire to Soundreef is not automatic: you need to register the tracks in your new account. Make sure to correctly enter titles, shares, and co-authors/publishers, sign the List of Works, and complete each registration. If your repertoire is particularly large, our team is available to offer you support.
