How do I activate my Soundreef profile and how long does it take?

To activate your Soundreef account, complete the brief "Account Verification" form.

We need to collect some historical information about your songwriter/publisher position to ensure the correct activation of your Soundreef mandate.

 

Is Soundreef your first collecting society?

On your first login, your account will be Frozen: indicate whether this is your first time joining a collecting society or if you had a previous mandate with another society.

If Soundreef is your first collecting society, your account will immediately change from Frozen to Active, and you can start submitting your works right away.

If you are switching to Soundreef from another collecting society, please complete the form with additional information:

  • your IPI code (Interested Party Information),
  • the rights management society you were previously registered with,
  • the status of your previous mandate (active or terminated),
  • the termination date of that mandate,
  • your withdrawal/opt-out documentation from the previous collecting society.

We will verify this information within 5 business days, during which your account will be in a "Validating" status. You do not need to take any further action during this time.

 

After verification is complete

a) Green light! The previous mandate has already ended, so you are now officially registered with Soundreef. You can start submitting your works to Soundreef! Your account will change from "Validating" to "Active."

b) Almost there: you just need to wait for your withdrawal/opt-out to take effect.

If the withdrawal from your previous society is not yet effective, your Soundreef account will temporarily be Inactive; we will activate it as soon as the withdrawal/opt-out is effective.


Remember: we can only verify your account with accurate information. If your previous mandate is still active and your IPI code is attached to another society's mandate, we cannot manage your rights. It’s essential to complete the form correctly!

 

FAQ/Clarifications

Can I submit works with a Frozen/Validating/Inactive account?

You can submit your works only when your account is active and verified. It is not possible to do so when the account is still in a "Frozen," "Validating," or "Inactive" status because your information has not yet been verified or authorized. Once your account is active, you can start uploading your works.
