If a songwriter is not the performer of their tracks, how do you protect them in case of live events? Follow
Thanks to licenses and our pro-active checks.
Event organizers are required by law to send us all music reports of what they played during their programs. In addition all the major events organizers by now regularly use LEA licenses and send the borderò (music report), since LEA collects royalties in Italy on behalf of Soundreef.
For small concerts and piano bars, LEA performs regular checks on behalf of Soundreef through its network of agents. In addition, many piano bars have already bought licenses with annual subscriptions, committing to fill in the borderò.
Therefore, in case of live events, uses are detected even if a songwriter isn't the performer.
